Itinerary

Your Always Croatia cruise from Šibenik to Dubrovnik begins with a swift shared transfer to your ship ready for boarding at 2 p.m. After admiring the beauty of your new home-at-sea from the promenade, your cruise manager will welcome you on board, show you around, and introduce you to your fellow guests and crew. 

Once you’ve settled in, an esteemed local guide will take you on a walking tour of Dubrovnik Old Town’s most poignant landmarks, providing jaw-dropping historical insight throughout. Starting on Stradun, the ancient main street, you’ll loop around the Old Town discovering everything from the famous Medieval walls featured in Game of Thrones to the 16th-century Sponza Palace. Back on board, your Cruise Manager will lead a welcome briefing that shares everything you need to know about your upcoming cruise. Afterward, mingle with fellow guests as you celebrate your first night onboard with dinner and drinks in the salon.

Overnight in Dubrovnik

The ships will set off early this morning to arrive on the magnificent island of Mljet by early afternoon. After a fuelling buffet breakfast, dive off the swim deck and revel in a refreshing mid-morning swim or snorkel while the ship anchors. Return to the ship for lunch as it continues to Mljet where you will spend the rest of your afternoon exploring its breathtaking national park on a casual walk with your Cruise Manager or perhaps biking on your own (national park tickets included). 

Admire the stunning sapphire saltwater lakes that flood the valleys of Mljet’s lush mountainous pine forests and discover the historic Benedictine Monastery located on a solitary island amongst them. Although this island-hopping cruise is packed with stunning scenery, those found in Mljet National Park will be some of the most memorable. For dinner this evening, choose from one of several rustic restaurants lined along the port beside your ship to sample more delicious local cuisine.

Enjoy another early breakfast onboard as we cruise from Mljet to Korčula, the next beautiful stop on your island-hopping adventure. The ship will pause along the way for a morning swim stop, allowing you to dive into the Adriatic from the swim deck and spot the local sealife before climbing back on board for lunch. Surrounded by lush Croatian islands in all directions, this might just be your favorite swimming stop of the trip. 

The ship will arrive in Korčula early afternoon, giving you free time to relax on the ship or get a drink in town before meeting your local guide for an evening walking tour. Born and raised in Korčula, the guide will share their intriguing local knowledge of its ancient history, its role as the birthplace of Marco Polo, and personal stories about growing up in such a unique place. Once the tour ends, ask your Cruise Manager for restaurant recommendations for dinner ashore this evening.

This morning we will rise for an early breakfast as we depart for our first stop on Hvar Island, the town of Hvar. The ship will dock among the luxurious yachts of Hvar’s seaside promenade by mid-morning, giving you a couple hours of free time to explore on your own. Use that time to admire the views from Hvar Fortress, stop for a coffee in St Stephen’s Square, or explore the charming alleyways of Hvar.

Return to the ship for lunch as it cruises to the other side of the island, admiring its gorgeous coastal scenery along the way. The ship will arrive in Stari Grad, Hvar’s beautiful old town, by mid-afternoon giving you a few hours to soak up the buzz of the pretty palm-lined promenade and wander between the historic Venetian lanes to see Tvrdalj Palace and Hekterović House, the enchanting 13th-century former home of famous Croatian poet Petar Hekterović. This evening, get ready for a memorable dinner amongst the fragrant lavender fields of Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. First cultivated by the Ancient Greeks in the 4th century BC, it remains the best-preserved agricultural land in the Mediterranean.

This morning you will rise for an early breakfast as we depart for Makarska, allowing us time to stop in Bol, the quaint little town located on Brač Island, famed for its sandy peninsula known as Golden Horn Beach. Choose to spend your free time wandering around the quaint old town or simply soak up some sun on its dreamy golden sandbank.

Return for lunch as the ship continues toward Makarska, stopping along the way for an afternoon swim in the sun-drenched sea. The ship will arrive in Makarska mid-afternoon where guests have free time to explore the town on their own. This evening, return to the ship for a delightful dinner with the captain accompanied by live local music.

Today the ship will depart for Split, one of the most anticipated stops on a Croatia cruise. Along the way, the ship will stop on another part of the Makarska Riviera’s pretty coast, so you can have a refreshing swim and snorkel, or get more adventurous with kayaking and paddleboarding! Upon arrival to Omiš, board a bus and head to a rural village where you’ll meet a domestic family and learn how a local delicacy is made. Soparnik is a regional dish made with dough stretched by hand with swiss chard and garlic. Enjoy a light lunch and wash it all down with some home-made wine, of course.

Rejoin the ship along Split’s palm-tree-lined seaside promenade. Join the group for a walking tour that will immerse you in the city’s incredible history. Led by a local guide, you will get to hear fascinating stories about the port city as you visit iconic landmarks throughout the Old Town including Diocletian’s Palace, Saint Domnius Cathedral, and the Old Town Hall. For dinner this evening, take your pick from Split’s impressive roster of restaurants serving everything from Mediterranean seafood dishes to traditional Croatian cuisine.

Fill up on the breakfast buffet as you cruise along the cerulean Croatian coast to Primošten, a tiny charming island village named one of Europe’s best hidden gems in 2024 by European Best Destinations. After a morning stroll through Primošten Old Town spotting its beautiful historic landmarks, return to the ship for lunch as it cruises to Šibenik. Along the way, make the most of your last swim stop of the cruise. 

Arriving in Šibenik mid afternoon, you will join a engaging local guide on a relaxed walking tour around the charming coastal town built on a steep hill and crowned by an impressive fortress. Afterward, you’ll have free time to explore the city further or head back to the ship for some downtime before enjoying your last night of the cruise with dinner on your own.

Today is departure day, but before you disembark and continue your onward journey, fill up on a final buffet breakfast. Ready for the day ahead, it’s time to say farewell to your fellow guests, crew, and captain and leave the ship. Although check-out is at 9 AM, you can keep your luggage onboard until 1 PM if you have a later departure. A shared transfer will pick you up from the ship and take you either to your local accommodation or the airport.
